Bat Survey ?
A daylight bat survey was undertaken by R Jones in 2002. As a result of the survey various bat boxes were set up around the Green and for a time monitored.
?Small Mammal Survey?
This survey was carried out by Simon Curson in 2001 and was followed up by a survey carried out by local residents. In the former, the presence of Dormouse (protected species), Bank vole, Hedgehog, Fox, Grey Squirrel and Rabbit was confirmed. Other species, not seen at that time, such as Common and Pygmy Shrew, Field Vole, Yellow Necked Mouse and Badger are however likely to be present.
In the summer months, cattle belonging to a local farmer graze on the Green and many of them calf there.
